I know you're probably wondering, "How can one baby be so cute?" I often wonder the same thing myself. Look at those little wrinkled toes!

michelle and tomi are pregnant

....and they were nice enough to let me take their photographs! We went to Piedmont Park on Saturday and had such a great time. Their little girl is expected to be here on November 27th. I was lucky enough to attend their wedding a couple of years ago so it's really wonderful to join them in their next very special stage in their lives. I'm still working on the format of posting pictures on this blog. if you have any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'd like to be able to post pictures side by side and in a series, but have no clue where to start.
Thanks Michelle and Tomi for letting me try this out on you!
PS: more pictures are to come...all I have to say is scrabble and baby names. They're to be kept a secret until this little cutie comes out!

wedded bliss

Little Jenna getting ready for her mommy's wedding!

First steps as a married couple.

Sandi and her daughters. Darling moment.

My friend Sandi got married to the sweet (no pun inteded) confectioner Tom. They had the most precious ceremony at the Fickle Pickle in Roswell, GA. I feel so honored, they asked me to be their photographer and I had an amazing time photographing them.
Enjoy!

cotton picking on the way to FL

About a month ago, Chris and I drove down to my good friend's Jon and Liz's wedding down in Pensacola, FL. I've always enjoyed driving by the cotton fields and farms we have all over the south but haven't ever had the thought, idea, or energy to stop on my super long car trips. This time, when I told Chris I thought it might be fun to take pictures, he stopped immediately and let me have a go ahead. I fudged around a bit, and this is what I got. Looking forward to actually getting lightroom in a few months so I can really learn to edit.

passion pit in chapel hill

A couple of weekends my friend Shannon and I went up to our alma mater, UNC Chapel Hill for homecoming. We were lucky enough to be up there when CUAB (carolina union activities board) was hosting the campus consciousness tour with Passion Pit as the headliner. We had a great time, some kid vomited in our seats but the plus side was we got to bounce around to several seats until they said we could sit in the handicapped section. Our new seats were sick, so all in all, thanks to the kid who was too much of an idiot to hold is liquor, we got some great seats.

Of course, I have to add this obligatory picture of the bell tower.
I'm lovestruck.

Halloweener!

Can you find mine??

Pumpkin carving is always fun every year. I always look forward to it, but typically make the lamest pumpkins of the lot. You know, the typical pumpkin with triangular eyes and some whacked out crooked smile. I finally switched it up a little bit and made something a little different but still "spirited" and representing my Tar Heel State!

Let's get started!

I've been obsessed with photography since I was in high school. I lost my way (photographically) while in college and have just recently started taking photos again. When in high school, I used a old Pentax K1000. It was one of the best cameras ever; sturdy, heavy, and took just some of the best pictures ever. I bought a Nikon D60 a year ago and have enjoyed it thus far. My friend Megan and I took a class this summer so I learned how to actually use my camera (somewhat). Anyway, I am so glad to be a photographer again and I'm looking forward to continue learning and working on becoming a better photographer everyday. I carry my camera with me everywhere...thank god big purses are in!
I really enjoy portraits as well as taking pictures of ordinary everyday objects and making the look pretty somehow. I'm a terrible artist, so photography is great way for me to express myself without having to paint a picture or use my hands.
I plan on buying Adobe Lightroom sometime soon and I'm really excited about learning how to format and convert my pictures to black and white!
